Relief Report (late 2006) ...

The great needs in Lebanon after the war ended were for food and medicine.

Coupons were purchased from local supermarkets to be distributed to the churches that could give them out to the needy families. We purchased medicine for families who were out of work because of the war.  In turn, these families were feeding refugees in their homes and in the schools where the refugees had gathered.

This was extremely important, because the Health Ministry that used to assist people had stopped paying. So we praise the Lord that money from the U.S. from different Christian organizations, individuals and churches helped us to furnish some of these needs.

One project was with the Ethiopian Christian believers.  They live in groups in apartments. Most are women who work as housekeepers, but they were left without work and like everybody else, helpless. We bought oil, sugar, rice, tuna and noodles and passed out to them.

November and December found us in very busy times. Our teams of volunteers were working on three different projects for the Bedouins.

We were able to make some large purchases of food supplies at a wholesale house, which we made into packages to distribute. Each bag contained sugar, rice, oil and other stables needed to sustain the people. Our office became a packing station, and we made about 250 of these boxes to reach the people before Christmas.

We have done food packages to Christians in local churches, as well as doing our best to reach the outlaying areas of Beirut, Nabaa and Hadath, and in Jericho with medicines and other needs.

Not only have we helped individual families, but orphanages and homes for street children as well.
