Hello, my name is Rob, "The Robman". I am president of the International Sports Evangelists and the director of the Sports and Children's ministry for Living Faith Ministry International in Lebanon.  Along with Chris Wier, Vice President, our officers, board of directors and team members we would like to take a moment and share with you about our ministry.  We are a group of believers dedicated to making a difference in reaching the lost for Christ by using sports and related ministries as a tool to share the love of Jesus Christ.

When I first learned of the project, then called Lebanon 2000, my wife Mary and I were attending a sports evangelism conference. I had been involved in local sports evangelism for over 20 years, but I really felt God calling me to expand, and I had no doubt that the Holy Spirit was saying, "Go to Lebanon." God richly blessed that first year as hundreds of children and youth attended the camps, and many came to know the Lord.

In 2001, Chaouki asked if I would consider coordinating teams, and that summer God birthed a new ministry called the International Sports Evangelists. One of the most exciting things that has happened is not only the opportunity to share Christ thru basketball, but discipling local volunteers in Lebanon to help in the area of sports evangelism and children's ministry.

"The Believers Basketball team" in Lebanon continues the work far beyond the two weeks that we are in Lebanon. The popularity of basketball in Lebanon has opened doors for us to share not only in the neighborhoods, but also at universities and schools. God has blessed us richly, as we are not basketball stars, but ordinary people. 

I am in my mid 40s and thought my best playing days were behind me, but God provides the physical strength we need, but most importantly, the spiritual strength. One of my favorite sayings is "take care of the possible, and let God do the impossible." Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think a sport and a willingness to serve would be used to reach thousands of people for Christ, and it began many years ago with a boy, a ball and a hoop, and a big "yes" on the table to be obedient to God's call.

If you love sports and working with children, pray about joining us this year as we go again to Lebanon to reach the children with the life-changing love that only Jesus can give.
